The Pied Piper of Hamelin

Once the town Hamelin was full of rats. They began to disturb the people in hamelin very seriously. They were so big that they would even kill the cats and bit the babies. People, being annoyed at this, came to the mayor to do something against the rats. They also threatened to remove him from the post in case of his failure. Then and there he called a meeting of the councilors. But they could not reach any decision.
All on a sudden, A flute player appeared before them. He proposed that he would free the town from the rats on condition that the mayor would have to offer him one thousand guilders. The mayor agreed to the proposal. The flute player went out and played on his flute. Instantly thousand of rats came out from every house. They  follow him and jumped into a river and thus the town got rid of the disturbing rats.
When he completed his task, he reached the town hall and demanded the guilders. But the mayor didn't put emphasis on his threat. The flute player went out and created a new tune on his flute. At once all the children chased after him. At last, they stopped in front of a hill. The hill opened up and took them away. Then the town faced an irreparable loss.
